What To Do If You Have a Gas Leak

Natural gas is odorless, so a rotten egg smell is usually added to make it more detectable. If you smell natural gas, take the following steps right away before calling us:

• Do not use your cell phone unless you're a safe distance away.
• Shut off all gas valves.
• Don't attempt to locate the leak yourself.
• Don't turn on or off any electrical appliances.
• Don't use any open flames.
• Don't smoke.
• Get a safe distance away from your house, then call 911 and the utility company.
